Hello, this is Ziltch and today I will talk about the Flagging system, the Corruption system and Death Penalties.

Flagging System
First let’s talk about the Flagging System (PvP).
(Note: Caravan Raids and Sieges are not part of the Flagging system)
There are three different ‘States’ you can be in.

Non-Combatant(Green)
Combatant(Purple)
Corrupt(Red)

If you are a Non-Combatant:
  • If you Attack
    • Non-Combatant: You become a Combatant
    • Combatant: You become a Combatant
    • Corrupt: No change (You stay in the state you are in)
  • If you Kill
    • Non-Combatant: You will gain Corruption and become [COLOR=rgb(184, 49...
Character Influences

Hello, this is Ziltch and today I will talk about that which will influence your character.

Race

First of all, Race.
The different races have different base stats, so this will be one of the most important influences to your character as it decides the base values.
Race is also one of the stat growth variables.
Your choice in race is one of the things that decides how your stats will grow,
one race might get more Strength per level up compared to another which may grow agility much faster, to mention an example.

Your Race will also give you Augments to use on your skills, it’s kind of like this game’s take on racial abilities.

Another thing race will influence outside of your own character is the Nodes.
The race that has most contributed to a Node’s experience will influence it’s visual appearance. If Empyreans have contributed most experience to the Node, the Node will gain Empyrean architecture and design upon leveling up.

Hello, this is Ziltch and today I will talk about the Weather & Season systems.

(As well as mentioned a bit about the Day/Night system and Biomes)

Biomes
  • Biomes exists that are fixed
  • Biomes exists where seasons change environment
  • Weather conditions will change
(Talked about in this video)

Biomes will change how Seasons and Weather works within their respective Biomes.
Colder Biomes might have a longer winter while warmer Biomes will have shorter winter or maybe not snow at all.

For Weather things like Rain and Snow might get affected a bit in how they work compared to other Biomes.

Seasons
Now let’s talk about seasons. For now, each season in Ashes will last for a week, so if they follow the standard 4 season cycle, a cycle of all will take a month.
(Personally I feel it should be 2 weeks at minimum, 1 week just feels too short)

Caravans and why they are critical

Hello there, Ziltch here and today I will be talking about Caravans.
A system which I think is being underestimated a bit in some regards.

First the basics!
Caravans are a means of transporting materials around in the world, as there will be almost no fast travel, combined with the limitations of your own inventory (and mules), caravans will be the only eligible method of mass transportation of resources.

And you need mass transport of resources, why? Because you cannot feed a market that is far away easily by transporting small amounts. So there is a lot to earn if you are willing to take the risk.
I will talk about the importance of Caravans at the end.
