So that concludes this years PAX East. It has been a great event, Intrepid studios really outdid themselves this year. Really focusing on the community, answering questions on stream and being out there for hours. We got a fun play-through session with the developers and Alpha 1 release confirmed for Q4 this year. To recap the event, check out the articles previously posted and the streams:
Highlight of the day was the play-through session where Steven and his crew ran through the PAX demo.
Yesterday Intrepid Studio hosted a panel at PAX East, where they talked about a lot of things, from how unique and big of a project this is, to how they work together as a team. A lot of background talk and their thought process behind making the game. It's very interesting to watch, so I recommend checking it out.
However, the biggest news was that Alpha 1 is planned for early Q4 2018, and that it will be divided in two phases. The first phase will focus on their arena modes, castle sieges, city sieges, large player battles, raids and guild fights. So it is going to be very exciting to finally get a closer look at all the PvP and large scale content!
There was also a QA session where people from the audience could ask Intrepid. Did anyone say nodes part 3?
The first day of PAX East is over, and it is time to recap! For the first hours of the stream we got to see the PAX visitors playing the PAX demo. Some of you probably recognized parts from the dwarf dungeon, which we have been shown footage from on a previous live stream. As a great way to finish off Day 1, Steven and his colleagues decided to play through the demo with us!
We start off by seeing a level 3 node at the village level. The last time we saw this node, it was being attacked by a boss, which had come out from his mountain cave to attack the node. One of the many great things about Ashes of Creation is that the game world will react to the player actions, in this case the node upgrade triggered the boss to attack the node. The villagers then had to defeat the boss to keep the node safe.

New month, new cosmetics in the Ashes of Creation pre-order packs. As usual, the packs are the same in terms of the other content (test access, game-time, embers etc), while the cosmetics rotate each month. If you have already bought a pre-order pack, don't worry: You can still purchase the new cosmetics. It will be available as a addon, so you won't have to buy the whole pre-order package again.
This week Intrepid sent out an email regarding Alpha 0, PAX schedule and store updates. During PAX East, which is from April 5th to April 8th, they will be giving out 300 (!) keys to Alpha 0! They also mentioned that already has 1200 people been given access to test the game during Alpha 0.
From this moment, anyone who follow Ashes of Creation on their official social media channels, will gain additional entries to Alpha 0! So to increase your chances of getting a key, make sure you follow/subscribe all their accounts:
The Game Developers Conference is the world's largest professional game industry event. The event started today, lasting until Friday the 23rd. If you happen to be in the area, you might want to check out Epic's stand for Unreal Engine. Ashes of Creation will be among the featured games at their stand!
Epic will provide two different stands, one at #423 South, which will provide host technology, tools demos and business meetings. More important is probably booth #801 South though, which is where you can play the latest Unreal Engine games, talk with the developers behind them and get some free swag. Someone please get a photo with Steven!
This is what the press release from Epic had to say about Ashes of Creation: Ashes of Creation is a unique take on the MMO experience. Our world structure is dynamic and built to react to the...

Today Intrepid released a new blog post, providing some very interesting backstory behind the Dünheim dungeon, which we say briefly during the latest live-stream. We also got another video, for a more detailed look at this fine dungeon! Take a look at the video at the end of the article. Some really impressive visuals and backstory.
The diary explains the POV from a child, talking about the Harbingers threat growing day by day, while visitors to the mountain became less frequent. Her mother wanted to leave the city, but her father was insisting on staying due to his pride and his auction house.
