The Game Developers Conference is the world's largest professional game industry event. The event started today, lasting until Friday the 23rd. If you happen to be in the area, you might want to check out Epic's stand for Unreal Engine. Ashes of Creation will be among the featured games at their stand!
Epic will provide two different stands, one at #423 South, which will provide host technology, tools demos and business meetings. More important is probably booth #801 South though, which is where you can play the latest Unreal Engine games, talk with the developers behind them and get some free swag. The site has been live and well for about 1,5 months now. I'm pleased with the start we have gotten! :) Over 3200 hits on the site during just the first month is great. We now have 24 members and about 200 posts. I hope you will spread the word on our community to help it grow further :)

Today Intrepid updated the pre-order pack cosmetics available in their store. These will from now on update every month on the 2nd, up until launch. If you have bought a pack already, you can still upgrade it to a more expensive pack, or if you just want the new cosmetics. Any Kickstarter backer can purchase the pre-order cosmetics without needing to own a pre-order package.
Also added where some new PAX exclusive items (PAX East 2018 April 5th-8th), from minor cosmetics priced at 15-25 USD, to a highly limited VIP PAX 625 USD package. You will also see the developers at the GDC (Game Developers Conference March 21-23rd) at Epic's Unreal Engine booth. Today Intrepid released a new blog post, providing some very interesting backstory behind the Dünheim dungeon, which we say briefly during the latest live-stream. Intrepid Studios recently released their brand new studio website at intrepidstudios.com. The site has gotten a major face lift, and it is worth checking out for some background info on their visions and their team. They point out that Ashes of Creation is their flagship product, but that there are in fact two unannounced projects within the Ashes of Creation universe.
What could this be? Board game? Novel series? However we will have to wait a bit for more information on this, as these projects will be released in the future as the development of Ashes of Creation, nears its development milestones. Perhaps when we go into beta at the end of 2018 (hopefully), we will know what these projects are about.

Another month, another official AoC livestream. Steven and the crew played for about 1 hour, answering a few questions along the way. They showed us a few different instances, with some boss fights, the underrealm, an elvish node, and topped it of with a quick PvP session! Spoiler: Steven did not win the PvP! I have taken several images during the stream, check them out below!

Stream starts with the amazing looking Dünheim instance, an old dwarf city that got corrupted. The monsters there are pretty strong. The visuals are great, especially when you consider this game hasn't even reached the first official alpha state (alpha 1, estimated ~Q3 2018). We also get a look at the UI, character screen, loading screens etc. Of course things might change, but it is cool to see how it looks now. Steven got some basic gear on his character, and he swaps weapons a few times during the stream from bow to staff. Remember that there are no "class locks" on the weapons. Any class can use any weapon.
Once again we can tune in on the official livestream, which is tomorrow Friday 9/2 at 21.00 (9:00 PM) UTC. The livestream was initially planned at the end of January, but got pushed back due to some issues that needed fixing first. Please post your questions in this thread and they'll pick around 10 or so to answer live on-stream. You'll have to be lucky though, as additional questions will likely not get answered. So make sure you tune in to catch the stream!
Yesterday IGN released a hands-on article featuring Ashes of Creation. Over the course of about 2 hours, creative director Steven Sharif and lead designer Jeffrey Bard, guided their reporter through the wonderful world of AoC. Now who wouldn't want that job!
They talked a bit about the nodes, that most cities have to be grown by the players, through harvesting, monster slaughter, and economic trading with caravans. Also pointed out was that the size of the Underrealm, the network of beautiful caverns we were shown in the last trailer, was about the size of the world in Skyrim. Even more shocking, when completed, this area will still only account for about 1/30th of the total game world size!
